Is Khaotic Digital a Team?

Nope — it’s just me.

I used to run a HubSpot partner agency. I paid the $3,000 onboarding fee and $850/month only to realize the partner program is essentially a sales pyramid. That model works great for sales-led agencies, but I’m a developer — not a salesperson.

So, no employees, no offshore contractors, no third-party delays. When you work with Khaotic Digital, you’re working directly with the technician. No account managers, no waiting days for answers — just straight answers from the person doing the work.

How Does Khaotic Digital Compare to Agencies?

Most HubSpot agencies are sales-led and staffed with people who are “doing their best.” That’s fine — but not at the rates they charge. Between locked contracts, vague deliverables, and HubSpot’s own hefty fees, it can feel like highway robbery.

I regularly work with clients who’ve been told something isn’t possible or unnecessarily complicated — usually by an agency that didn’t know better or didn’t want to admit it.

I don’t upsell. I don’t push affiliate tools. I don’t lock you into contracts or monthly retainers.

I'm not perfect, and I don’t know everything, but I’m deeply experienced in HubSpot and digital tech. I charge $85/hr — no minimums, no nonsense — and I’m committed to solving problems efficiently and transparently.

Are Fixed Price or Hourly Agreements Better?

I only work on an hourly basis. Fixed-price projects tend to burn both sides — either the client overpays, or the contractor ends up underpaid (and disappears when things go south).

Project scopes always change. New tasks come up, clients discover needs they didn’t realize, and some requests grow beyond the original plan. Hourly billing is the fairest way to handle this for everyone.

You’ll never be charged more than the time I spend. I provide time estimates for hands-on work, and I don’t nickel-and-dime for every message. Consultations and actual task time are what I bill for.

An hour worked is an hour paid — it keeps projects simple, agreements light, and expectations clear.

How Do I Charge Clients for Payments?

You can hire me for consultations and hourly work on Upwork, which handles all the billing.

  • Consultations on Upwork are paid at the time of booking — I offer 30- and 60-minute sessions.
  • Hourly contracts on Upwork run from Sunday 6 PM CST to the following Sunday 6 PM CST. Clients have a one-week review period before charges are finalized.
  • I use Upwork’s time tracker with activity tracking and screenshots. This gives you full transparency, and gives me payment protection.

Outside of Upwork, I invoice via PayPal Business and track hours using Toggl.
Every task-based invoice includes a detailed hours sheet showing how much time was spent on each task.
Payment is expected within one week of receiving the invoice.

Is $85 per hour a lot?

Not at all — not for this niche, and not for my experience or skill set.

A lower hourly rate doesn’t always mean you’ll pay less. I’ve hired contractors myself, and I’ve talked to a lot of clients who thought they were saving money — only to get burned.

One common scam on Upwork is for “cheap” contractors to push clients into fixed-price work. Then they load those projects with hidden premiums. I’ve been quoted 10 hours at $20/hr for a task I could do in 30 minutes. Fixed-price can be a trap — that’s why I don’t offer it.

I’m one of the fastest web developers you’ll find.

  • 20 years of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • 5 years writing Python
  • I use AI to boost speed and quality
  • I’ve never needed to “ride” a contract for income — and I’m strongly against it

Top-tier HubSpot contractors average $100–$150/hr. Many chase long-term retainers and try to pitch themselves as your "total solution" just to get you to sign.

That’s not me.
I charge a fair rate, I show up when you need me, and I solve problems quickly. That’s why I stay busy — and why clients keep coming back.

How Do I Communicate With Clients?

I’ve spent a lot of time building my business on Upwork, and I genuinely like how the platform handles communication and billing. The best way to stay in touch with me is to open an Upwork chat room. You can even invite team members to the conversation, and everything — messages, file sharing, billing — stays in one place. If you're interested in working with me on Upwork, just let me know.

Outside of Upwork, I’m no stranger to email. It’s great for introductions and follow-ups, but it falls short when managing active project communication — especially when replies from multiple people start piling up.

If Upwork isn’t an option, I’m happy to join your preferred workspace: Slack, Stride, Microsoft Teams, Webex, or another platform of your choice. I typically work directly with CEOs, marketing managers, designers, and technical staff, but I’m comfortable navigating multi-person conversations across departments too. My communication style is flexible, and I’ll adapt to fit how your organization operates.

Regardless of the platform, video calls are essential for clear communication in remote work. I make my scheduling link available to all clients so you can easily book time that works for you. When you claim a spot on my calendar, I show up ready to collaborate.
